Erasmus + Programme – research in Eastern Europe

Exchange Program in Bulgaria

To the attention of UF Faculty with interests in Eastern Europe, the post-socialist space, or the EU. Under the auspices of the European Commission’s Erasmus + Programme an academic exchange between the UF and Sofia University in Sofia (Bulgaria) is open to UF faculty in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
This 10-days exchange is an opportunity to establish contacts with colleagues in Bulgaria, reconnect with existing partners, offer a short workshop, or work on laying out a research project. The exchange will be hosted by the Sofia University’s Jean Monnet Network in Bulgaria and as such the faculty member will have an opportunity to explore all of the research activities and seminars designed under the auspices of the Jean Monnet Network on European Identity, Culture, Exchanges and Multilingualism (EUROME).
This is the first year in which the EU Erasmus+ Programme is extended to countries outside of the EU and as such it offers an exciting opportunity to partake in the expanding research networks that the program seeks to elicit across the Atlantic. The Erasmus + grant covers both travel and accommodation in an amount determined by the European Commission.
To apply, please submit a hard copy of the following to Lisa Booth @ 3324 Turlington Hall:
·       Short description of plan of travel (up to 1000 words) and a CV.
Priority will be given to faculty with proven interest in the region, or a concrete research or teaching agenda.
Deadline for submission is March 10, 5 pm
