Sustainability European-style: Urban Farming, Alternative Food Economies, and the Politics of Civic Participation

Join the Center for European Studies for a discussion with Diana Mincyte, Associate Professor, City University of New York, on the urban farming movement in Eastern Europe/Lithuania as an entry point for discussing the politics and practice of sustainability in the EU, particularly in relation to food self-provisioning, climate change, and civic engagement. It will also consider regional differences and inequalities across the EU as well as the role of gender and generational divides in the EU’s sustainability politics.

This panel is part of the University of Florida Jean Monnet Center of Excellence workshop series on “The EU and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”
