The East European Politics Group

Our faculty have substantive expertise in the areas of populism, nationalism, subnational politics and conflict, identity politics, institutional design, migration, gender and politics, voting and political parties, regime change and democratic backsliding, political economy, the EU, and memory politics.

Call for conference or workshop grants

The Center for European Studies (CES) is pleased to announce a call for in-person or hybrid conferences, workshops or public events that relate to the study of contemporary Europe in the spring of 2025. CES European Studies Working Group Grant supports small groups of faculty working with graduate students that represent at least two academic units. CES will award grants in the range of $2,000 – $5,000 per proposal.
