CES Internship Program

CES Internship Program

Why CES Internships?

The CES semester-long unpaid internships, available to UF students, serve as an introduction to the practical side of running a top-ten area studies center at a major US research university. Our interns have the opportunity to pursue projects based on their own interests in areas such as:

  • Blog writing and editing
  • Community relations
  • Event planning, management, and implementation
  • Fundraising
  • Grant writing and grant management
  • Marketing of academic and outreach programs
  • Newsletter writing, editing, and design
  • Program development and evaluation
  • Public relations and advertising
  • Strategic planning and long-term vision development
  • Website design, update, and maintenance
  • Website entry writing and editing

Interns will be partnered with Outreach Coordinator, Carla Ruffer, and Academic Programs Coordinator, Corinne Tomasi, who will act as mentors during weekly meetings and status update sessions.

Requirement

Interns must commit to a minimum of 5 hours per week. Hours are flexible and can be arranged around the student’s academic schedule and other commitments. The program places a strong emphasis on initiative and teamwork. Interns are expected to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.

Internships are available year-round with three application deadlines per year.

To apply for the CES internship program, please submit a cover letter and résumé to:
