Conversations on Europe Virtual Roundtable

Although Poland and Hungary transitioned to democracy nearly 30 years ago, there is now increasing evidence that the actions of their leaders are working to erode democracy in their respective countries. What is motivating this erosion of liberal democracy? What are the implications of these actions for democracy enthuse countries and in the region more generally? What is the role of the European Union in preventing democratic backsliding in two of its Member States? In this conversation, our expert panelists will tackle these and other questions.
