Jeffrey Jones is a PhD Candidate in Modern European History specializing in Modern Britain and the British Empire. His research studies how supposedly marginal corners of the British Empire in Central America and the Western Caribbean were dramatic places of experimentation and challenge for the British imperial project in the long nineteenth century. His work combines this study of imperial administration with a cultural history of empire in the British metropole to showcase the centrality of cultural production and imperial imaginaries with imperial governance and resistance.
