CES Non-Degree Seeking Online Language Program

The Center for European Studies online language programs are open to all non-degree seeking students, including students from a Florida private university or out-of-state universities, high school students, and community members interested in taking a language class for college credit.

Online language courses are available in:

  • Czech Beginning I & II
  • Hungarian Beginning I & II
  • Polish Beginning I & II
  • Turkish  Beginning I & II
  • Turkish Intermediate I & II

In general, beginning and intermediate I courses are available in the fall semester, and beginning and intermediate II courses are available in the spring semester.

Pricing

Florida Residents

Florida residents pay the current in-state per credit hour rate and a $13.32 per credit technology fee.

As a reminder, students from Florida public universities or state colleges should apply to take CES online languages through the CLAS Shared Language program.

Out-of-State

Out-of-state participants rate is $200 per credit hour and a $13.32 per credit hour technology fee.

How to Apply for the Non-Degree Seeking Language Program

    1. Go to https://registrar.ufl.edu/registration/visiting-students/non-degree
      • Read all information before proceeding to application
    2. Click Non-degree Application (at bottom of page)
    3. Create an Account
    4. Click “Start New Application”
    5. Select an application year (i.e. if applying for Fall or Spring 2021, the application type would be “2021 Application Year”)
      • Then Select “Non-Degree Application” and “Create Application”
    6. Fill in Personal Background, Conduct Information, and Application Details
    7. On the “Non-Degree Course Request” page, select the following:
      • Non-Degree Special Program
      • College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
      • Choose your term
      • Fill in section on why you are applying for the non-degree course
      • Special Program
        • CES – Center for Euro Studies Onl ND
      • How many courses – 1
        • Course Prefix (CZE – Czech; HNG -Hungarian; POL – Polish; TUR – Turkish)
      • Course Number (1130 – Beginning I; 1131 – Beginning II; 2220 – Intermediate I; 2221 – Intermediate II)
    8. Fill in Academic History, if applicable
    9. Fill in Florida Residency Declaration – the residency of our students has no bearing on tuition cost for our program, but this information is required by the University of Florida.
    10. Complete remaining sections, sign, and submit.

Once your application has been submitted, the Center for European Studies will review application materials and contact applicants regarding approval and class registration.
