Lisa is a Ph.D. Candidate in Modern European History, with a specialization in Modern Russian History. She is currently working on a dissertation on the intersection of Jazz and Russian culture in the 1950s and 1960s.

She has taught courses in Central and Eastern European history, and has designed two courses for the Center for European Studies, “The Cold War in the Soviet Union” and “Jazz and Rock in the Soviet Bloc.” Prior to coming to the Center she was a visiting instructor in History at Florida Gulf Coast University.

In addition to her financial and administrative duties as Executive Director, Lisa provides academic advising to students for the Modern European Studies IDP, the Europe track of the International Studies major, the European Union Studies minor and certificate programs, the Modern European Studies graduate certificate program, and is actively involved with the development of the Center’s study abroad programs.
