Economic Trust & Anti-Semitic Violence: Jewish Cattle Traders, Nazis and Farmers, 1919-1939

Please join us on Tuesday, March 10th at 5:30 in the Judaica Suite, Library East for “Economic Trust & Anti-Semitic Violence: Jewish Cattle Traders, Nazis and Farmers, 1919-1939,” a talk by Stefanie Fischer. Dr. Fischer will discuss the importance of Jewish cattle traders to the German-agro-society and the mutual trust between Jewish cattle traders in farmers. As she will demonstrate, these relationship began to change due to anti-Jewish violence and they would ultimately come to end in 1939. Dr. Fischer is a lecturer at the Leo Baeck Summer University, Humboldt University, and she also holds a PostDoc position at the Center for Jewish Studies, University of Potsdam.
