“Paris Noir: When African Americans Came to Paris”

The UF African American Studies Program is showing “Paris Noir: When African Americans Came to Paris” on Thursday, October 5th at 6pm in room 100 of the Smathers Library. The film discusses the African American experience in Paris during World War I, the Jazz Age of the 1920s, and the German occupation of World War II. The filmmaker, Julia Browne, will participate in a question-answer session after the hour-long film ends. Julia partnered with Blue Lions Films on this groundbreaking project as consultant, developer and distributor. She is also the owner of the Walking The Spirit Tour Company that leads tours of African American culture in Paris, France.
