Degrees, Certificates, and Programs
The Center for European Studies offers many degrees, certificates and programs for both undergraduate and graduate students.
European Union Studies
The European Union studies program offers both a minor and certificate. Students gain an in-depth knowledge of the history, institutions, and policies of the European Union. Courses are drawn from multiple disciplines, including political science, sociology, food and human nutrition, and law.
East-Central European Studies
The East-Central European studies program offers both a minor and certificate. Students in the program pursue an interdisciplinary curriculum of language and area studies courses with a focus on the countries and region on Eastern Europe.
International Studies – Europe
International Studies is an interdisciplinary programs that provides knowledge of major international or global issues. Students in the program will develop a working knowledge of a modern European language and study European politics, history, and culture.
Language Studies @ CES
CES houses and supports 5 less commonly taught European languages including, Czech, Hungarian, Modern Greek, Polish, and Turkish.
Graduate Certificate
The Center for European Studies offers a graduate certificate in Modern European Studies that is completed in conjunction with the student’s masters or doctoral degree. The program combines language and area studies coursework that provides a broad foundation for students preparing for teaching or other professional careers requiring knowledge of Europe.
