Dr. Kristina Danka is a European-born American scholar and documentary filmmaker whose interdisciplinary work encompasses visual arts, film, comparative literature, and social studies. She has written and produced over 50 award-winning documentaries, short films, and video projects addressing human rights, environmental justice, and minority issues. Dr. Danka holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest and completed formal filmmaking training at New York University and the New York Film Academy. She is currently pursuing postdoctoral work in the Department of English’s Film and Media Program and is a graduate affiliate at the Center for European Studies. Her current research explores the role of visual arts education in identity formation and its impact on promoting social inclusion in underrepresented communities.
