Luis Z. Pro Villamonte is a PhD student in Musicology at the University of Florida. He bridges the philosophy of science and musicology to develop replicable, falsifiable methods, working across music information retrieval (MIR), music theory, mathematical modeling, and cultural history. His current project examines the postwar avant-garde in Europe, focusing on pianist Roger Woodward’s collaborations with Iannis Xenakis, Morton Feldman, and Tōru Takemitsu.
