“Writing Retribution – Holocaust Justice & Its Meaning: An International Conference”

This conference is sponsored by the Center for Jewish Studies and made possible through a gift from Norman and Irma Braman and the Isser and Rae Price Library of Judaica. Leading scholars from all over the world will discuss new interdisciplinary approaches to post-Holocaust criminal trials, restitution cases, and broader issues of memory and justice. The plenary address is by Lawrence Douglas of Amherst College (the Trials of John Demjanjuk), and the closing address is by Sophie Lillie, one of the most prominent art provenance researchers In the world (on the restitution of Gustav Klimt’s Beethoven Frieze).  Please see the schedule below for more information. writing retribution schedule
