The European Union Studies Program (EUSP) at the University of Florida (UF) was formally established within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in June 2001. It is housed in the Center of European Studies, and is a fully interdisciplinary program with courses in Anthropology, Food and Human Nutrition, History, LLC, Political Science, and Sociology, among others. The program offers a Minor and Certificate.
The primary goal of the European Union Studies Program at UF is to provide a comprehensive range of courses on the European Union, including classes on EU history, foreign policy, economics, enlargement, and specific policy areas. Students who complete the minor have pursued careers in the federal government, think tanks, consultancies, and multinational organizations. For more information on our alumni, visit our Alumni page.

EU-Related Internship
Student pursuing the EUSP Minor may complete an appropriate internship to fulfill the capstone requirement. To be approved for the minor, the internship must be relevant to some aspect of the European Union.
Students must arrange their own internship, and submit the internship for review and approval by the CES Director or Academic Programs Coordinator.
Students are expected to work a specified amount of hours per week based on which semester they will complete the internship:
- 10-12 hours/week – Fall or Spring semester
- 14-16 hours/week – Summer C
- 24-28 hours/week – Summer A or B
In addition to their intern duties, students are required to keep a daily log and write a 10-page reflection paper reviewing the overall internship experience, discussing new insights gained into the EU, as well as relevance of the internship experience to previous EU coursework or research.
Students can take the internship for credit by enrolling in EUS 4905 for the semester in which they complete the internship. Students in the internship will receive a S/U grade.
If you would like to take the internship for credit, please contact Corinne Tomasi, corie@ufl.edu.
