Application Deadline:  March 7, 2023 (by 5:00 pm ET)

Travel Dates: Sunday, May 7 – Sunday, May 14, 2023

The Center for European Studies is collaborating on a project supported by the German Marshall Fund  (GMF) and organized by Sandra Bartol and Kristijan Lezaic. The program focuses on European security and the integral relationship between the EU, NATO, and the US. As part of the program, GMF is providing funding to send three UF undergraduate students to Sweden and Belgium for one week (May 7-14, 2023) to meet with representatives from the Swedish government and EU institutions to learn more about the transatlantic security relationship.

GMF and CES will cover the cost of students flights, accommodation, and some meals.

The competition is open to UF undergraduate students from any department. Three students will be selected for the trip. Students must be US citizens or permanent residents and hold a valid passport (e.g. expiration date is at least six months after date of return). Priority will be given to students who have not previously participated in CES-GMF student travel.

The selected students will be required to participate in a negotiation simulation while on the program (further details below).
